Canam Apps/Desgo Keeps Asking for Password?
Tired of having to put your password in every time when launching Canam Applications or Desgo4? We'll fix that here.
First thing is to search for "Credential Manager" in Windows and launch it.
Then navigate to the "Windows Credentials" tab. We need to make sure that TERMSRV/canam-applications.canamsteelcorp.com or TERMSRV/desgo-applications.canamsteelcorp.com is not listed in the top "Windows Credentials" section. Then we will add the credentials on the bottom section, "Generic Credentials". Ignore any other "Windows Credentials". We're only worried about these two.
If the top section includes TERMSRV/canam-applications.canamsteelcorp.com or TERMSRV/desgo-applications.canamsteelcorp.com, simply click the arrow, and "Remove".
Now we'll add the credentials on the bottom section. Click on "Add General Credential".
Then you will land on this screen.
Internet or network address will be either:
- canam-applications.canamsteelcorp.com
- desgo-applications.canamsteelcorp.com
User name will be canamsteelcorp\4x4 <--please note that this is your 4x4, in my case it's michkole.
Password will be your current Windows password
After you're done click OK and you will see your new saved credential.
You can verify it worked by right clicking on the Canam Apps or Desgo icon and going to "Edit.
Making sure that "Allow me to save credentials" is unchecked, you will see that the username we entered is greyed out and cannot be changed. This means you're all set!
The next time you change your Windows password, this will break, but it's an easy fix. Getting back into the Credential Manager will give you the ability to update these credentials. click the arrow and go to "Edit". Then update your password and save.
